Volunteer

A “volunteer” by the traditional definition, is a person who freely offers their time and effort, undertaking a service with the motive of helping others, all without getting paid.  This is truly something we would welcome, if a person didn’t need the money. Sometimes volunteering is called “pro bono” when the professional works for no charge, if it involves highly specialized skills. But there is another level we can consider for volunteering, more realistic we believe for some people, and may attract more to join this monumental task of building The Bible Oasis together. A “stipend volunteer” is a type of worker who willingly serves toward an important cause, like a traditional volunteer, but does receive a small fixed payment for their time, usually just to cover living expenses, much lower than the standard wage expected in the market. Such a person does this to reduce the financial burden on the group. We will need all three types of volunteers.

For many tasks, we cannot find volunteers… but will simply need to pay the fair market price for such services by vendors. And we will certainly do that. We are not looking for handouts by businesses. If money is needed for something, God will supply it. But the overall labor cost will be dramatically reduced if we get lots of volunteer, pro bono and stipend volunteer help too. And we would be wise to invite the Body of Christ to help us achieve this extraordinary task. If you want to help us, what can you do and how much money do you need at a minimum? The rewards of working on this will be priceless, once in a lifetime, and beyond what we could ever describe. If God inspires you to help, come on brothers and sisters, here am I send me right? Let’s goooooo!

Here is a list…of some of the types of skills, trades, talents and industries where we need help and need your wisdom too. If you are an industry leader, perhaps your time will be most valuable by answering some of our questions about how we should proceed forward in building a very large staff doing very specific things for the long term. Yes we need people in the trenches doing hard work, but we also need leadership.

1 Peter 4:10, “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another…”

Isaiah 6:8, “…Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, Here am I! Send me.”

1 Sam 12:24, “Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart; for consider how great things he hath done for you.”

We need those “filled with the spirit of God… and in all manner of workmanship.” (Exo 31:3)
